BROOKLYN — A Williamsburg woman was jolted awake in her bed Sunday morning by a burglar who tried to rape her, police said.

The man broke into the 21-year-old woman's home about 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 8, climbed on top of her and tried to sexually assault her, cops said.

After a struggle, the male suspect, described as between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, fled through a window of the apartment near Metropolitan and Manhattan avenues, cops said.

He remains at large, police said.

A surveillance video distributed by police after the attack shows the suspect walking a bicycle down the street, dressed in a white t-shirt, dark pants and white shoes.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact investigators at 1-800-577-8477, at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.
