NEW YORK CITY — A man died Thursday morning after a southbound 3 train hit him in the 116th Street station, MTA officials said.

The man, whose identity was not released, was struck in the station, near Lenox Avenue, about 12:50 a.m., an MTA spokeswoman said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, she added.

Police were still investigating the circumstances of the man's death Thursday.

Regular train service resumed about two hours later, the MTA said.
