QUEENS — Organic burgers have become so popular in Forest Hills that a restaurant serving them is doubling its size, its manager said.
Bareburger, which opened at 71-49 Austin St. last year, is taking over the space next door, previously used by the clothing store Bus Stop, which closed by the end of July.
“It’s a Bareburger,” said JJ Lee, the restaurant's manager. “Everyone knows that name and we are always busy.”
Lee said she expects the additional space to open in October. It will increase the number of seats to about 100, Lee said.
The new space will also include a bar, which, in addition to beer and wine, will also offer frozen coctails, such as raspberry ginger margarita and a "dark 'n' stormy," which is made of an organic rum and ginger slush.
