Woman With Eight Kids in Tow Robbed on Bed-Stuy Elevator

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man robbed a woman as she took care of eight children on a Bed-Stuy elevator on Monday, police said.

The 39-year-old woman and the children entered the elevator at 1711 Fulton St. about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, followed by a man dressed in black brandishing what he told them was a concealed gun, police said.

The man allegedly stole the woman's jewelry and fled on a bicycle, according to police.

The relationship between the woman and the children was not immediately known.

Police released video of the suspect on Tuesday. There had been no arrests as of Wednesday morning.
