MIDTOWN — Street meat's getting its 15 minutes.
The Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern stopped by The Halal Guys' ever-popular food cart at Sixth Avenue and West 53rd street to tape an episode of "Bizarre Foods" earlier this month.
The show focused not on the vendors' savory chicken, lamb and rice combos, but instead the cart's round-the-clock lines, and the amount of food it needs to keep serving its patrons morning, noon and night.
It was one of three eating spots featured in the episode, along with Zaragoza Mexican Deli and Grocery in the East Village and Haandi in Gramercy.
"These are hot places," Travel Channel spokeswoman Bonnary Lek said. "What goes into that demand and into having that much food for New York?"
Halal Guys general manager Omar Khalil kept what he called the company's "secrets" close to the vest, but did say its four carts, all located in Manhattan, easily serve "hundreds" of people a day.
"We made sure we were the first ones to start serving Halal at those times and those places," he said. "We're busy and crowded all day and all night."
The episode does not yet have an air date but will likely run by the end of the year, Lek said.
