CHELSEA — Authorities shut down part of West 20th Street Monday after a suspicious package was found at the NYPD's 10th Precinct stationhouse, cops said.
Officers from the NYPD's Bomb Squad and hazmat team were called to the scene to investigate the package at the station house, between Seventh and Eighth avenues. They responded to a threat called in just after 12:30 p.m. relating to a mysterious package, police said.
The building, which was not evacuated, was secured by police who taped off access to the block of West 20th Street.
It was not immediately clear what type of package caused the threat and an investigation was ongoing, the NYPD said.
