Police Charge 2 Women in Death of Man Who Tried to Break Up Fight: Reports

HUNTS POINT — Two women were arrested and charged on Saturday after one stabbed a Connecticut man to death in the Bronx, police said.

The victim, Ronis Garcia, 28, of Norwalk, Conn., was found lying on the floor inside an apartment building at 855 Bryant Ave. by police at 7:22 a.m., cops said.

Garcia was attacked after he intervened in a fight between the two women at the location, the NY Post reported. He was trying to break up the row when he was attacked, the paper wrote.

Nereline Santana, 21, of Longwood, was charged in with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, and Carmen Puerto-Cruz, of Texas, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Garcia was rushed to Lincoln Hospital with a stab wound in his chest, and declared dead on arrival, police said.

A knife was recovered at the stabbing site, and an investigation was ongoing, police said.
