Fire Breaks Out at Staten Island Home, FDNY Says

NEW YORK CITY — One person was seriously hurt when a fire broke out in a Staten Island home Friday morning, the FDNY said.

The blaze erupted about 10:40 a.m. inside 35 Selkirk St., near Alverson Avenue, according to an FDNY spokesman.

One person was listed in serious condition after the fire was brought under control about 11 a.m., the spokesman added.

The victim was not immediately hospitalized, fire officials said.
