SUGAR HILL — Investigators are eyeing suicide as the cause of a 28-year-old man's death inside his Harlem apartment Tuesday morning, sources said.

The unidentified man was discovered facedown by his roommate with a bag over his head and his hands loosely tied behind his back about 8:15 a.m. on Saint Nicholas Avenue, near West 146th Street, according to the FDNY and NYPD.

He had been suffering from a potentially fatal illness, sources added.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

First responders rushed to the home after getting a 911 call of a man who had stopped breathing, fire officials said.

The medical examiner will determine his cause of death.
