CARROLL GARDENS — A high-risk sex offender, who allegedly attempted to kidnap and assault a woman in Carroll Gardens last month, was indicted Monday, ehe Brooklyn District Attorney announced.

Willie Weathers, 43, was indicted on charges of attempted kidnapping, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, the Brooklyn DA said in a press release.

If convicted, Weathers faces up to 25 years in prison.

On July 29, Weathers allegedly pointed a gun at a 28-year-old woman near Court Street and Second Place and then pistol-whipped her several times while holding her neck, the Brooklyn DA said.

He then allegedly dragged her to his car by the neck, telling her "You're coming with me," according to the Brooklyn DA and police.

The victim managed to flee and run to a local bar to call the police.

Weathers, who served 18 years in Attica for a sex crime against a minor, snapped cellphone photos of himself while sitting in his car near an ATM, where the victim made a night deposit at the bank about 2:00 a.m., police said.

Cops nabbed Weathers near his Red Hook home, using the photos after he dropped his cell phone at the spot before getting away in his car, police said.
