TRAVIS — Maybe he "got a tough piece of chicken."

Police are searching for a masked man they said backed a truck into a Staten Island restaurant and then dumped a drum of oil out front. His image was caught on surveillance tape.

The suspect backed a truck into the wall of Casa Nova Restaurant at 3555 Victory Blvd. at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, them dumped a drum of motor oil in the front of the buildings, cops and owner Dominick Savastano said.

The masked man caused damage to the awning of the restaurant, which Savastano said would cost a couple of thousand dollars to fix.

Workers started to repair the damage on Monday afternoon, Savastano said. He said he had no idea who the masked man could be.

“It is what it is,” he said. “Maybe he got a tough piece of chicken.”

Police released images of the truck they believe was used in the incident, which was a red Ford pickup truck with the words “Construction Inc.” written on the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
