CARROLL GARDENS — Cellphone photos taken by a high-risk sex offender have implicated him in an attempted kidnapping and assault on a woman in Brooklyn Monday morning, cops said.

Willie Weathers, 43, who served 18 years in Attica Correctional Facility for a sex crime against a minor, snapped several selfies while sitting in his car by an ATM near Court Street and Second Place just before the attack, police said.

Weathers then waited until the 27-year-old victim made a night deposit at the bank about 2 a.m. and slowly followed her in his car, according to sources.

He confronted the woman with a black handgun, prompting her to turn over her property, but Weathers threw her into a headlock and repeatedly pistol-whipped her, cops said.

He tried to wrestle her into his car, telling her "You're coming with me," police said.

The woman managed to escape from the attacker.

Weathers, a Level 3 sex offender, dropped his phone at the spot before taking off in his car, police sources say.

He was later arrested and charged with assault and attempted kidnapping.

The assault left the neighborhood stunned.

“The attack reminds of the need for all of us to be vigilant against violence in our community, and especially violence against women," Councilman Brad Lander said in a statement.
