SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — The New Amsterdam Market is bringing artisanal food vendors back to the Seaport for several dates starting in September.

Once a weekly fixture on South Street from the spring through late fall, the outdoor market only opened for one day in June this year, and it remained unclear whether founder Robert LaValva would have his roster of more than 70 merchants up and running on the waterfront again.

But, according to its website, New Amsterdam Market will return for one day a month from September through December at South Street and Beekman Street. Its selection of local cheeses, meats, breads and various prepared foods will be available on Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Nov. 24 and Dec. 15.
