NEW YORK CITY — A person was attacked in Chelsea shortly after midnight, the FDNY said.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was attacked about 12:15 a.m. near West 21st Street and Seventh Avenue, an FDNY spokeswoman said.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, the spokeswoman said. The extent of the injuries were not immediately clear, she added.
The initial 911 call was for a rape at the location, but officials could only confirm that someone was assaulted there.
