ST. GEORGE — What better way to end your ferry ride than some free Shakespeare?

The Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre will start its free run of "The Tempest" on the steps of Borough Hall, across the street from the St. George Ferry Terminal, according to the company's website.

"The Tempest," which is thought by some scholars to be the last play Shakespeare wrote alone, tells the story of a magician, Prospero, who gets stranded for a dozen years on a deserted island with his daughter.

In the play, Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, conjures up a storm to bring his usurpers to the island and restore his daughter's rightful place.

The company has previously staged free Shakespearean plays on the steps of Borough Hall, including "Julius Caesar" last year.

The performances will run daily from July 25-28, with performances starting at 7 p.m. on weekdays, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and Sunday at 3 p.m.
