STATEN ISLAND — A man who shot a pregnant woman in the face during a robbery attempt last month has been linked to a similar shooting that occurred a week later, police said.

The first incident happened on June 17, when the suspect approached a 28-year-old pregnant woman outside her home on Albion Place about 4:30 p.m., cops said.

The man displayed a gun and demanded her money, and when the woman, who was two months pregnant at the time, refused, the suspect fired a shot to her face and fled the scene, ABC 7 originally reported.

The woman was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition, cops said.

The next week, on June 24, the same suspect approached an 18-year-old male in front of 64 Harrison Ave. in Port Richmond about 6:38 a.m. and demanded money, police said.

When the victim refused, the suspect shot him in the right hand, cops added. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police described the suspect as standing 6 feet, with a thin build and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
