NEW YORK CITY — Two people were hospitalized after an assault in Harlem Monday morning, cops said.

The two people, whose identities were not immediately released, were involved in an assault near 1370 Fifth Ave. about 12:45 a.m., according to the NYPD.

A hammer was recovered at the scene, a police spokesman said, though it was not immediately clear if it was used in the attack.

One person was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital and the other to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, he added. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Investigators were still trying to determine if the two injured fought each other or if a third person was involved, the spokesman said.
