NEW YORK CITY — Six people were hurt, two seriously, when two trucks collided on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge's upper level early Monday morning, the FDNY said.

The injured were rushed to both Brooklyn and Staten Island hospitals after the trucks slammed into each other about 6 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Two people were listed in serious but stable condition while four others sustained minor injuries, a fire spokeswoman said.

Patients were taken to Lutheran Hospital and Staten Island University North Hospital, she added.

The bridge's upper level was shut down after the accident, causing widespread delays, according to reports.
