NEW YORK CITY — A straphanger had to get stitches after he fought a man who stole his iPhone aboard a 3 train in the Upper West Side on Sunday, cops said.

The train was pulling into the 110th Street station about 6:10 a.m. when the thief nabbed the man's phone, according to the NYPD.

The victim chased the suspect, who then turned and fought the victim, sending the victim to Harlem Hospital where he received stitches on his chin, police said.

The suspect, who cops believe is in his mid-20s, was last spotted wearing a purple shirt and blue jogging pants with a white stripe down the leg.
