JACKSON HEIGHTS — Bring a blanket and some snacks and watch films from around the world, and around the city, this weekend in Travers Park.

The Queens World Film Festival is bringing a slate of local and international films to the park for a "Flic Nic" outdoor screening on July 20.

The eight short films come from as far as Iran and Belgium, with a few from local filmmakers.

Films include "Pollicino," which tells the story of an Italian man with Alzheimer's; "Tu & Eu," a story that follows star-crossed lovers around the world; and "Away," which profiles female surfers in Rockaway Beach.

The films were shown in March at the Queens World Film Festival, which offered local and international films at theaters across the borough.

The event is sponsored by the Jackson Heights Green Alliance. The showings begin at dusk.
