PARK SLOPE — Cops are investigating a string of burglaries at Fifth Avenue businesses after two restaurants and a clothing shop were hit in just four days.

In all three cases, a thief broke into the business in the early morning and stole cash from the register, according to police reports.

Investigators believe the crimes are linked, a police source said.

The first burglary happened between 2:25 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on July 8 at Dizzy's, the diner at Fifth Avenue and President Street. The thief entered through the side gate and stole $1,900 in cash and $20 in Jack Daniels liquor, according to a police report. A police report described the suspect as a man about 5-foot-6, 230 pounds, wearing a black mask.
