COBBLE HILL — Green drinks, anyone?

BKLYN Green Drinks, a free social event brings together Brooklyn’s environmentalists and sustainably minded.

The group, which will meet July 17 at 61 Local, calls on people who are involved in sustainability or those who are just interested in living a green lifestyle, said Robbie Lock, an organizer of the events.

“It’s nice to have a fresh, willing face and open ears to talk about [the environment],” said Lock, adding that the group tends to have a high green IQ.

To make sure they’re walking the walk as well, the group chooses bars that fit their sustainability theme, said Lock, adding that 61 Local was designed using reclaimed furniture.

“It helps to define the ethos of green drinks,” he said.

And those not involved in an environmental field are still welcome to the event, especially “New Yorkers who want to see New York become a greener city,” he said.

BKLYN Green Drinks will meet July 17 at 61 Local, located at 61 Bergen St., from 7:00 p.m., to 10:00 p.m. For more information, visit this website.
