CHELSEA — The long-awaited Fairway Market in Chelsea will open to the public on July 24, company officials announced.
The popular grocery chain's fifth Manhattan location, at 766 Sixth Ave. near West 26th Street, will feature 600 cheeses, 70 types of olives and an array of fresh produce, meats, coffee, deli items and gluten-free foods, according to the shop's website.
The 23,000-square-foot, two-floor Chelsea Fairway sits just steps from the packed Trader Joe's and a block from Chelsea's Whole Foods on Seventh Avenue.
Fairway plans to host a ceremony celebrating the opening at 9 a.m. on July 24, a spokeswoman said, followed by a ribbon-cutting. The store should open to eager shoppers just after 10 a.m.
