NEW YORK CITY — An off-duty NYPD cop charged with attempted rape and sexual abuse of a minor used margarita flavored beer and pornography to seduce a 16-year-old girl Fourth of July night on Staten Island, court documents said.
Peter Ciollo, 29, was allegedly partying with two 16-year-old girls when he told the victim to act out a pornographic video he put on his computer and then sexually abused her on the second floor of his home, court documents said.
He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with seven misdemeanor charges, including attempted rape and sexual abuse, according to a criminal complaint unsealed at his arraignment on Thursday in Stapleton Criminal Court.
Ciollo, who pleaded not guilty, was released on $1,500 bail and could face up to a year in jail for each charge, a spokesman for the District Attorney said.
According to court documents, Ciollo's night crossed over to the wrong side of the law 9:00 p.m. on the Fourth of July, when he drove the victim to a Tottenville deli and bought 40-oz. bottles of beer and margarita flavored beer for them.
He urged the girl to drink, then took her to the Staten Island Mall parking lot at 1:00 a.m. on July 5 and told her to drive his car, court documents said.
Ciollo allegedly took the victim and a friend back to his house to drink some more, before he took the victim upstairs to watch porn.
After watching the video, Ciollo allegedly pushed the victim against the wall, pulled down her shirt, bit her face and put her hand on his privates against her will, court documents said.
He then moved the girl to his bed and sexually abused her, court documents said.
Ciollo and the girl knew each other prior to the attack, a police spokesman said, though the extent of their relationship remained unclear.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday on 5:45 p.m. in the 121st Precinct, which polices the western quarter of the borough, according to the NYPD.
Ciollo is due back in court on Aug., the DA's office said.
