BROOKLYN — A man was critically injured Friday morning after a vehicle mowed him down near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, an FDNY spokeswoman said.

The man, whose identity was not immediately released, was struck near the intersection of Meeker Avenue and Leonard Street about 4:45 a.m., the spokeswoman said.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with severe head trauma, she said.

The circumstances of the collision remain unclear.
