SUNNYSIDE — A straphanger was rushed to the hospital Monday morning after walking into the side of a Flushing-bound 7 train, officials said.

The accident unfolded about 8:25 a.m. when the man made contact with the train at the 46th Street stop. He was alert after being struck and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, officials said.

The incident did not delay service, but holdups were expected Monday morning because of signal problems at 111st Street, according to the MTA.
