FORT GREENE — A portion of a brownstone facade came crumbling down in Fort Greene Monday afternoon.

The face of the brownstone, located at 89 Hanson Place, fell about noon.

No one was hurt, police said.

The falling debris caused the walls at nearby salon De Lux Gallery to shake.

"It sounded like thunder," salon employee Robby Ramon said.

Ramon also said that a passerby narrowly escaped the falling facade.

The Department of Buildings could not be immediately reached for comment.
