CENTRAL HARLEM — An unidentified body was found washed up along a Manhattan shoreline Sunday afternoon, police said.

Rescuers responded to a call of the discovery at 12:58 p.m., and found the badly decomposed body at East 153rd Street at the Harlem River, cops said.

Police were unable to immediately determine gender, age or race due to the body's deterioration, a spokesperson said.

The body was removed from the water at the Peter J. Sharp boathouse in Washington Heights. An investigation is ongoing.
