QUEENS — The Forest Hills building, which formerly housed Parkway Hospital, is scheduled to be auctioned off later this month, according to data provided by PropertyShark.
The site of the former hospital, at 70-35 113 Street in Forest Hills, adjacent to P.S. 196, has been vacant since the medical facility closed in 2008.
The planned auction, first reported by The Real Deal, is scheduled for June 28.
The 70,000-square-foot property, built in 1963, has an outstanding lien of nearly $15 million, according to PropertyShark.
Parkway Hospital, along with St. John’s and Mary Immaculate hospitals, was one of several Queens healthcare facilities, which were forced to close in recent years.
The hospital’s former chief executive officer, Dr. Robert Aquino, had used various means to keep Parkway Hospital open. He even bribed the former New York State Senator Carl Kruger, which led Aquino to be sentenced to four months in prison in 2012.
