QUEENS — A man and woman who were found tied up and beaten to death inside their Ridgewood home may have been killed in a drug dispute, police commissioner Ray Kelly said Wednesday.
"We're looking at their contacts," Kelly said. "There are allegations they may have been involved in marijuana sales.''
Franco Montoya, 21, and Beatrice Morris, 28, were discovered at 9:30 p.m. Monday at 1864 Flushing Ave., near Onderdonk Avenue, a police spokesman said.
Neighbors hadn't seen the couple in a while, but heard scuffling in the apartment Sunday night, Kelly said.
The landlord investigated Monday and discovered Morris lying on the floor tied up and with severe head injuries, Kelly said.
Montoya was bound in a chair with similar injuries, Kelly added.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, cops said.
The pair's relationship and the motive for their death remains unclear.
