NEW YORK CITY — A pizza delivery man on a bike was injured Monday afternoon when he collided with a yellow cab in East Harlem, witnesses and fire officials said.
The unidentified pie man, described as a man in his 20, was traveling northbound in the bike lane when he smashed into the taxi in the southwest corner of the intersection about 3 p.m., authorities said.
Mohammed Anamer, a cashier at First Avenue News Corp. bodega nearby, said that after the crash the deliveryman was conscious and able to stand with help.
He was taken to Metropolitan Hospital for treat, fire officials said.
"He wasn't that bad," Anamer said.
It was unclear if road construction near the intersection played a role in the crash.
