Subway Mugging Leads to Shopping Spree in Union Square

NEW YORK CITY — Police are looking for six larcenous friends who went on a shopping spree in a Union Square electronics shop with a credit card stolen from a straphanger, police said.

According to cops, the plastic was stolen from a person on the F train platform at Delancey and Essex streets at 4 a.m. on Wednesday May 22, 2013.

Police did not release a description of the mugger.

Later, during business hours, four men and two women strolled into the Union Square Best Buy and proceed to shop on the stolen card, cops said.
