Thief Snatches iPhone from Teen on Staten Island Street, Cops Say

STAPLETON — Police are looking for a teenage thief they said snatched an iPhone from a 14-year-old boy in Staten Island..

On May 17, the victim was using his iPhone 5 at around 2:30 p.m. on the corner of Tompkins and Quinn streets, police said. The suspect grabbed the phone from his hand and fled the scene, cops said.

There were no injuries reported from the incident, police said.

Police described the suspect as 6 foot tall, weighing 170 pounds and in his teens. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue sweatshirt and a blue baseball hat, cops said.
