THE BRONX — A Bronx man was shot in the head through his front door in East Tremont earlier this month, police said Thursday.

The victim was shot on the afternoon of May 12 when two suspects allegedly fired through the door of the man's apartment on East 183rd Street, police said.

The victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Police did not believe he was the intended target of the shooting, the NYPD said.

Police identified two suspects Thursday as Manuel Cortez, 33, and Kola Mirdita, 39, and asked for the public's help in finding them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
