QUEENS — A 9-year-old girl was being treated for a head injury after she was struck by a van while riding her scooter in Corona Monday evening, officials said.
The girl, whose identity was not immediately released, was knocked unconscious when a northbound silver van slammed into her just before 7:30 p.m. near 39th Avenue and 111th Street, FDNY and NYPD representatives said.
She was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, cops said.
The driver remained on the scene and was not charged.
