QUEENS — Family, friends and community supporters will honor and mourn D'aja Robinson, the 14-year-old South Jamaica girl who was shot while riding a city bus, during funeral services scheduled for Friday.
The private ceremony will start at noon at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York on Merrick Boulevard, where Rev. Floyd Flake, former U.S. Congressman, is the senior pastor.
A wake following the funeral is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Flake will be at the service, but will not officiate it, the church said.
D’aja Robinson was sitting on a bus on Sutphin Boulevard coming home from a friend's Sweet Sixteen party on May 18 when about 9 p.m. she was shot and killed.
D'aja, whose family said loved to dance and was a straight A student, was not the intended target, cops said.
The shooting might have been sparked by a gang-related Facebook “diss”.
No one has been arrested.
