WOODSIDE — Police are looking for a ponytailed man who sucker punched a 7 train subway passenger in Queens.

The assault happened on Sunday May 5 about 1 a.m. as the train approached the 69th Street Station in Woodside but police officers did not get the video until Friday.

The footage shows a man standing in the middle of the train, clenching his fists. Then he looked over his shoulders and violently punched a man. The suspect left the train at 69th street, police said.

The video also shows several passengers staring at the suspect as he prepared to throw the punch. Some of them got up and backed up afterwards.

Police described the suspect as either white or Hispanic, about 5 foot-9 inches, 180 pounds with brown eyes, long black hair in a pony tail, wearing a dark T-shirt and blue jeans.

The NYPD asks anyone with information regarding this crime to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
