EAST VILLAGE — S'MAC is back.

Less than a week after the Department of Health shuttered the mac and cheese eatery for live roaches and evidence of mice, the starchy stalwart of East Village eats has reopened, S'MAC owners said Monday.

"We officially reopened moments ago," co-owner Sarita Ekya said in an email to DNAinfo New York about 5:30 p.m. "On our inspection today, we received 3 [violation] points."

That's a drop from last week, when the reports of vermin and other violations — such as improper food utensils — caused S'MAC to rack up 71 violation points.

Officials also found dirty wiping cloths and poor toilet maintenance during its April 30 inspection of the small chain's flagship, located at 345 E. 12th St., the Health Department said.
