LOWER EAST SIDE — A 14-year-old boy allegedly bit a teacher at a Lower East Side school on Tuesday, police said.

The teen "became irate," then sank his teeth into a teacher at the Seward Park High School campus at 350 Grand St., a police spokesman said. The boy bit the woman on her left hand, according to a school safety officer.

Police planned to charge the teen with felony assault, according to the NYPD. The teacher was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center for observation, police said.

Three school safety officers led the handcuffed boy, dressed in Hollister sweatpants and a navy blue top, from the school to a police van after the alleged assault.

Seward Park High School is an educational complex that houses five schools. It was not immediately known at which school the incident occurred.
