NEW YORK CITY — A 60-year-old woman was injured when a thief ripped the necklace from around her neck and snatched away her cellphone before fleeing Friday, cops said.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was near 2505 Hoffman Street about noon April 19 when a man came up from behind and robbed her, according to the NYPD.

She was treated at the scene for scratches and swelling around her neck where the necklace was wrenched away, police said.

Cops said the suspect, who is about 5-feet-8-inches tall, was last seen wearing sunglasses, a blue sweater with white lettering on the back, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.
