22-Year-Old Bronx Man Dies After Being Shot in Back, Police Say

MOTT HAVEN — A 22-year-old Belmont man was shot dead in broad daylight in front of a South Bronx building Monday afternoon.

Mark Williams was shot in the back in front of 445 E. 140th St. between Willis and Brook avenues about 12:23 p.m., police said. Williams was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There were no immediate arrests, the NYPD said, and the investigation was ongoing.
