MIDTOWN — Cops are searching for a thief who swiped a wallet from a straphanger's pocketbook in Midtown, the NYPD reported.

The victim was riding a downtown 2 train about 5 p.m. Apr. 3, police said, when the suspect took the wallet from her bag. She discovered the wallet was missing when she arrived at Times Square-42nd Street.

The suspect used one of the credit cards at a Duane Reade branch on Eighth Avenue near Penn Station. Police released surveillance images of the alleged suspect at the drug store, which show him carrying a couple cans of Monster energy drink.

He was described as having been in his 50s, bald and wearing glasses.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
