Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show Brings Antique Flair to Chelsea

By Mathew Katz | April 17, 2013 8:50am

CHELSEA — Yesterday's trends will become today's fashions this weekend as the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show returns to Chelsea.

More than 90 vintage clothing and antique textile dealers will come together at the Metropolitan Pavilion this weekend, giving fashionistas a chance to hunt through the racks for that perfect piece of retro-chic clothing inspired by styles from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

The vintage world's top vendors from around the city and country will show off styles from centuries gone by, along with brand names that lend the show vintage credibility.

Participants include 2 Try Hard Vintage, Another Man's Treasure, Metropolis Vintage, and Right to the Moon Alice.

The show doesn't stop at just clothing, as Vintage Eyewear NYC will be on site to sell their fancy frames, and fashionable pieces from Duchess Art & Antiques will also be available.

This year's show will feature a particular focus on skin-baring clothing made of lace, crochet and macrame, showing off styles that are meant to be "sexy as well as sophisticated," organizers said.

Items in the "Exposed" collection are available for purchase online and will be on display at the show.

The Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show & Sale runs April 19 from 1 to 8 p.m. and April 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m at Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St. Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 if purchased online.
