NEW YORK CITY — A rush-hour pileup involving a school bus on East 92nd Street near the FDR Drive Tuesday morning left 13 people injured, an FDNY spokesman said.
The four vehicles slammed into one another at East 92nd Street, near FDR Drive, about 7 a.m., fire said.
Thirteen people were injured in the crash, fire said. Five were treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Another eight were treated for minor injuries.
The three students who were on board the school bus that was rear-ended were not injured in the crash, according to a Department of Education spokeswoman.
The bus left the scene about 90 minutes after the accident, the DOE spokeswoman said. It was not bringing students to a public school, she said.
All of those who were injured were taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Metropolitan Hospital Center, fire said.
