BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man wanted for beating his girlfriend crashed his car in the parking lot of the 81st precinct stationhouse in Brooklyn and fatally shot himself Friday night, sources said.

Anthony Alexander, 32, called his girlfriend and told her he was going to kill himself when he drove a Lexus into the precinct's parking lot about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, sources close to the precinct said.

As plainclothes police officers leaped out of the way, Alexander veered his car into the lot, smashed into an unmarked van, the NY Post reported, and pulled the trigger of a 9 mm gun underneath his chin, sources said.

The gun was recovered at the scene, sources said.

Alexander was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, and died of his injuries a day later, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The man was previously arrested for domestic abuse charges, and was allegedly wanted in connection with beating his girlfriend at the time of the shooting, sources close to the precinct said.

He also had a rap sheet that included six years in prison for robbery, the Post reported.
