NEW YORK CITY — Twitter founder Jack Dorsey told 60 Minutes on Sunday that he still wants to run for mayor one day.

Dorsey made public his “dream job” in a 2011 Vanity Fair article, and told 60 Minutes he was still serious about moving to New York in the future to vie for the position.

“What I love about New York is just the electricity I feel right away,” Dorsey told correspondent Lara Logan. "It’s kind of like being in a car in the middle of a thunderstorm. Everything is raging around you but you’re safe inside that car. So New York feels very much to me like that."

While Dorsey spoke about his love for New York, the interview focused on Dorsey’s latest venture, Square, an application that makes credit card readers out of smartphones.

Current candidates have nothing to fear however. Dorsey is not currently a resident of New York and it did not appear that he was thinking of running in this year's election.
