HELL'S KITCHEN — With Holy Cross School set to close in June, the Archdiocese of New York has hired special placement counselors to help parents find a new Catholic school for their kids.

In an effort to make the process as easy as possible, the Archdiocese has also put together a fact sheet comparing other schools in the area, showing off their tuition and after-school programs.

The counselors will work with families over the next few months to ensure they can remain in the Catholic school system.

"All efforts are now focused on providing alternate school options for the children at Holy Cross," said Fran Davies, a spokeswoman for the Archdiocese's Superintendent of Schools.

The 125-year-old school on West 43rd Street has been on the cash-strapped Archdiocese's chopping block for years, but managed to avoid closure until the January, when officials announced in January that it would close along with 23 other schools.

In 2011, the Archdiocese proposed a plan to merge Holy Cross with Sacred Heart of Jesus School on West 52nd Street, but that plan is now off the table, Davies said.

Instead, Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of several options for Holy Cross students. Others include Blessed Sacrament and St. Gregory the Great on the Upper West Side, Guardian Angel in Chelsea, St. George in the East Village and St. Charles Borromeo in Harlem.
