Woman Steals Straphanger's Wallet And Withdraws $2,000, Cops Say

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A woman with chic black-rimmed glasses walked into a Chelsea Chase and withdrew $2,000 with a stolen card, police said.

She had stolen the card, along with the wallet it was inside, from an unsuspecting straphanger two days earlier on Nov. 17, police said.

The 27-year-old victim only realized something was amiss when she reached the Borough Park station and couldn't find the billfold or the various cards inside.

The suspected thief withdrew the cash from a Chase branch near Eighth Avenue and West 15th Street, cops said.

She's believed to be in her late 20s, approximately 5-feet-3 and about 115 pounds, cops said. She was last spotted with dark hair and sporting a dark coat, dark pants and dark rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
