ELMHURST — A 28-year-old man died after jumping from three stories up inside the Queens Center Mall Wednesday afternoon, officials said, leaving shoppers horrified.

The man jumped just before 12:40 p.m. at the mall on Queens Boulevard and 57th Avenue, cops added.

He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Jessica Montoya, 25, said she was standing at the entrance of Teavana on the mall's second floor when she spotted a man wearing black listening to headphones at the top of the escalator on the third floor.

"He was acting normally, looking around, listing to the music," said Montoya. "And then I heard 'boom' and I heard people screaming."

She raced to the railing and saw the man sprawled on the tile floor.

"It made me want to throw up," Montoya said.

Giselle Entrades, 23, who works on the third floor, said that the man "was walking around the mall since this morning."

She said that after she heard people screaming, she went to the rail and saw the man "lying on the floor."

"It was awful," she said.

Others took to social media to express their shock.

"Holy f**k I'm at Queens Center Mall eating lunch and someone just jumped off the 4th floor, don't know if he's dead," tweeted @BloodstainLane.

No criminality was suspected.
