Woman in Critical Condition After Being Struck by 1 Train at 157th Street

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being struck by a southbound 1 train Monday afternoon at 157th Street station, officials said.

The incident happened at 1:02 p.m. and power was shut off at the station as emergency responders arrived, the Fire Department said. The woman was taken to Harlem Hospital.

1 trains were running with delays in both directions by 2:17 p.m. after service was suspended at 157th Street for about an hour.

It was not immediately clear how the person got on the tracks.

Earlier Monday, a man was struck by a train at Northern Boulevard in Queens. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
